وَنزورand we visit سَيِّدناour master وَسَيِّدand the master of غَيرِناthose other than us
وَنزور سَيِّدنا وَسَيِّد غَيرِنا
لَيتَwould that التَشكّيthe suffering كانَwere بِالعوادupon the sickbed visitors
لَيتَ التَشكّي كانَ بِالعواد
And we visit our master, the master of others too.
Would that the suffering fell upon his visitors!
لَوif كانَcould be تقبلaccepted فديهa ransom لفديتهthen I would ransom him
لَو كانَ تقبل فديه لفديته
بِالمُصطَفىwith the choicest منof طارِقيmy newly acquired wealth وَتلاديand my inherited wealth
بِالمُصطَفى من طارِقي وَتلادي
If a ransom could be accepted, I would ransom him
With the choicest of my newly acquired and inherited wealth.
