عَفا سَرَبُ الحَبلِ الدَميتُ المحلَّلُ

عَفا سَرَبُ الحَبلِ الدَميتُ المحلَّلُ

فَفَرشُ الجُبيلِ بَعدَنا فَالمشلَّلُ

فَفَرشُ الجُبيلِ بَعدَنا فَالمشلَّلُ

The track of al-Ḥabl, al-Damīt, and al-Muḥallal have faded away,

The rope's collar has been loosened, the knot untied,

as have Farsh al-Jubayl since our departure, and al-Mushallal,

So Al Jubeil's carpet is spread out after us, unravelled.

فَذو سلم فَالصَفحُ الا مَنازِلا

فَذو سلم فَالصَفحُ الا مَنازِلا

بِهِ من مَغانيها حَديثٌ وَمحوِلُ

بِهِ من مَغانيها حَديثٌ وَمحوِلُ

and Dhū Salam and al-Ṣafḥ, except for dwellings

With no hard feelings, no grudges, only love,

there among her abodes, some recent and some a year old.

Tales and songs of its beauty keep turning in my mind.
