وَبَينَand between الصَفاal-Safa وَالمروَتَينand the two Marwas ذكرتكُمI remembered you all
وَبَينَ الصَفا وَالمروَتَين ذكرتكُم
بِمُختَلَفat the place of coming and going ماwhat بَينَbetween ساعone walking briskly وَموجفand one hastening
بِمُختَلَف ما بَينَ ساع وَموجف
And between al-Safa and the two Marwas, I remembered you all,
I remembered you between Safa and Marwah
Where those walking briskly and those hastening crossed paths.
In the diverse times between surge and ebb
وَعِندَand during طوافيmy circumambulation قدindeed ذَكَرتُكَI remembered you ذكرةa remembrance
وَعِندَ طوافي قد ذَكَرتُكَ ذكرة
هِيَit المَوتُdeath بَلnay كادَتit nearly عَلىin comparison with المَوتِdeath تَضعُفbe twice as great
هِيَ المَوتُ بَل كادَت عَلى المَوتِ تَضعُف
And during my circumambulation, I indeed remembered you—a remembrance
And during my circumambulations, I remembered you with a remembrance
That was death—nay, nearly twice death itself.
That is death, nay it almost doubles death
