أناI قاهِرُvanquisher of الظَّالمِينthe wrongdoers الّذِيwho
بِيَby me الصَّعْبthe unruly يُقْرَنُis yoked حتَّىuntil يليناَit yields
I am the vanquisher of wrongdoers, the one
I am the conqueror of the unjust ones
by whom the unruly is yoked until it yields.
With me, hardship is paired until it softens
لاnot أغبِطُI envy منwhoever كانَwas ليto me ظالماًa wrongdoer
عذابِيmy punishment أليمٌpainful علىupon الظَّالميناَthe wrongdoers
I do not envy anyone who has wronged me;
I do not envy whoever was unjust to me
my punishment is painful for wrongdoers.
My torment is painful upon the unjust
عَذَابيmy punishment أليمٌpainful لمنْto whoever مَسَّهُit touched him
وصَفْحِىand my pardon جميلٌgracious عنof الجاهليناَthe ignorant
My punishment is painful to whoever it touches,
My torment is painful to whoever it touched
and my pardon of the ignorant is gracious.
And my forgiveness is beautiful from the ignorant
وأمرٍand many a matter عُنيتI attended بهِto it عُضْلَةٍa knotty problem
سَرَرْتُI gladdened بتفريجهِby resolving it الأقربيناَthose close to me
And many a knotty matter I took in hand—
And a matter I was concerned with obstacles
I gladdened those close to me by resolving it.
I was delighted by its relief to the nearest
وقومٍand many a people جَدَعْتُI cut off عَرَانينَهُمْtheir noses
فجاءَthen came قَماَقِمُهُمْtheir chieftains يُهْرَعُوناَrushing
And many a people whose noses I cut off—
And a people whose cheekiness I cut off
their chieftains then came rushing.
So their stumbling came rushing
تَرَاهُمْyou see them لَدَىَّbefore me منfrom الذُّلّhumiliation ليto me
كمِثْلlike البائِمthe beasts (unclear spelling) لاnot يَنطِقوناَthey speak
You see them before me, humbled in submission to me,
You see them before me out of humiliation
like beasts, not uttering a word.
Like cattle, they do not speak
أجُودُI give generously بماليwith my wealth علىto سائليthe one who asks me
وألْفَيand I am found بأسرَارِwith the secrets of هِنْدٍHind ضَنِيناَmiserly
I give freely of my wealth to whoever asks me,
I generously give my money to those who ask
yet I am found miserly with Hind's secrets.
And meet with secrets of a stingy India
