وذو الهمّ تُعديهِ صريمةُ امره

وذو الهمّ تُعديهِ صريمةُ امره

اذا لم تُمَييِّثهُ الرُقى وتعادله

اذا لم تُمَييِّثهُ الرُقى وتعادله

And a man of purpose is carried onward by his firm resolve,

He whose care oppresses him is relieved by perseverance in his affair,

if incantations and his indecision do not soften him.

When calm consideration and moderation do not appease him.
