والله لو أدبرت ماهبت الصبا

إلى يوم نلقى الله ما قلت أقبل

إلى يوم نلقى الله ما قلت أقبل

By God, were you to turn away for as long as the east wind blows,

By God, if I turned away I would not have yielded to the breeze

until the day we meet God, I would not say, 'Come back!'

Until the day we meet God, I would not have said, come closer

فخذ كل مال كنت أنت احتويته

فخذ كل مال كنت أنت احتويته

عليّ وإن اسطعت ضرّي فافعل

عليّ وإن اسطعت ضرّي فافعل

So take all the wealth you yourself had acquired

So take all that you possessed of me

at my expense; and if you can harm me, do so.

And though you make my harm shine, then do
