أُثنِيI praise علىupon خَيرِthe best of الأَنَامِhumankind مُحمدٍMuhammad
أُثنِي على خَيرِ الأَنَامِ مُحمدٍ
كَشَفَhe dispelled الدُّجَىthe darkness بِضياءِwith the radiance of بَدرِthe full moon of جَمَالِهِhis beauty
كَشَفَ الدُّجَى بِضياءِ بَدرِ جَمَالِهِ
I praise Muhammad, the best of humankind.
I praise the best of mankind, Muhammad
He dispelled the darkness with the radiance of the full moon of his beauty.
He dispelled the darkness with the radiance of his beautiful full moon
بِثَنائِهِthrough praise of him رُفِعتْwere raised مَدَارِجُranks قَدرِنَاour standing
بِثَنائِهِ رُفِعتْ مَدَارِجُ قَدرِنَا
خَصَّتْsingled out تَحيتُناour salutation عَليهupon him وآلِهِand his family
خَصَّتْ تَحيتُنا عَليه وآلِهِ
Through praise of him, our standing was raised to higher ranks.
Through praising him, our rank was raised
Our salutation was reserved for him and his family.
Our greetings are especially upon him and his family
