قد فاق في الحسن جميعَ الحِسان
And a young gazelle with no equal in Paradise,
With beauty unrivaled in the gardens
And a young gazelle whose like is not in the gardens,
He has surpassed all beauties in beauty.
Surpassing all the beauties there
Who has surpassed in beauty all the fair ones.

للسيف والنَّصلِ وحدِّ السِّنان
I have seen only his eye as a quiver
Naught but his alluring eyes I saw
I saw his eye as nothing but a quiver
For the sword, the blade, and the spearhead's point.
Keener than blade, sharper than spearhead's point
For the sword, the blade, and the edge of the spear.
