I salute wit and refinement.

I salute etiquette and manners,

I salute wit and literature,

I salute conviviality and rapture.

I salute joy and delight.

I salute companionship and mirth,

وأرقُصُ حول مأدبةٍ

وأرقُصُ حول مأدبةٍ

تضمُّ السادة النُّجَبا

تضمُّ السادة النُّجَبا

And I dance around a banquet

And I dance around a feast,

And I dance around a banquet

That gathers the noble gentlemen.

That hosts the eminent nobles.

That gathers the noble elites,

وأسقي النشء من كبدي

وأسقي النشء من كبدي

سُلافَ الشعر لا العنبا

سُلافَ الشعر لا العنبا

And from my liver I give the young to drink

And I quench the youth with my liver,

And I serve the rising generation, from my very soul,

The pure wine of poetry, not of grapes.

The draft of poetry, not wine.

The choice wine of poetry, not the wine of grapes,

وأفدي للعلا بدمي

وأفدي للعلا بدمي

شبابًا للعلا ذُرَبا

شبابًا للعلا ذُرَبا

And for glory, with my blood I ransom

And I sacrifice for knowledge with my blood,

And I ransom with my blood, for the sake of glory,

Young men keen for glory.

A youth for knowledge a prey.

A youth keen-edged for the heights,

نفوسٌ للحياة غدتْ

نفوسٌ للحياة غدتْ

تقود الجحفل اللَّجِبا

تقود الجحفل اللَّجِبا

Souls that, for life's sake, have come

Souls for life have become,

Souls that have arisen for life,

To lead the clamorous host.

Leading the active throng.

Leading the clamorous legions,

وأرواحٌ مطهَّرةٌ

وأرواحٌ مطهَّرةٌ

أرتْ من طهرها العجبا

أرتْ من طهرها العجبا

And purified spirits

And purified spirits,

And spirits purified,

Have shown marvels of their purity.

That showed their purity a wonder.

That revealed wonders through their purity,

وأفئدةٌ مقدّسةٌ

وأفئدةٌ مقدّسةٌ

سَمَتْ حريةً وإبا

سَمَتْ حريةً وإبا

And sacred hearts

And sanctified hearts,

And sacred hearts

Have soared in freedom and proud defiance.

That aspired for freedom and Fatherland.

That soared in freedom and proud defiance,

وهِمّاتٌ مكهربةٌ

وهِمّاتٌ مكهربةٌ

تسارع للعلا خببا

تسارع للعلا خببا

And electrified aspirations

And electrified ambitions,

And electrified ambitions

Hasten toward glory at a trot.

That race for the heights steps.

Racing swiftly toward glory,

عروق الودّ تربطها

عروق الودّ تربطها

وتعقدُ بينها نسبا

وتعقدُ بينها نسبا

Veins of affection bind them

Bonds of affection connect them,

Veins of affection bind them,

And forge kinship among them.

And kinship ties them together.

And forge a lineage between them,

يمين الشمس ترفعها

يمين الشمس ترفعها

لتعلو الشمس والشهبا

لتعلو الشمس والشهبا

The sun's right hand raises them

The right hand of the sun raises them,

The right hand of the sun raises them

To rise above the sun and the meteors.

To rise above the sun and comets.

To rise above the sun and the stars,

وداعي العلم يطلبها

وداعي العلم يطلبها

لتجني التِّبْرَ والذهبا

لتجني التِّبْرَ والذهبا

And the herald of knowledge seeks them

And the caller of knowledge seeks them,

And the caller of knowledge seeks them

To reap gold dust and gold.

To reap goodness and gold.

To harvest gold dust and gold,

وصوت الجدِّ يُنْهِضُها

وصوت الجدِّ يُنْهِضُها

لتبلغَ عنده الأربا

لتبلغَ عنده الأربا

And the voice of diligence rouses them

And the voice of seriousness rouses them,

And the voice of diligence rouses them

To attain their goal through it.

To attain at his presence the highest seats.

To attain their goals thereby,

بني القطر الشقيق ومن

بني القطر الشقيق ومن

أتى بالود منتدبا

أتى بالود منتدبا

O sons of the brotherly land, and whoever

O kindred country and those,

O sons of the brotherly land, and whoever

Has come in friendship as a delegate,

Who came with affection commissioned.

Came as a delegate of affection,

فإنا كلنا وطنٌ،

غدا للشرق منتسبا
