Yours is the bounty, my lord, and yours are praise and thanks;
Yours are bounty, O my lord, and praise and thanks,
where the courtyard is spacious and the largesse overflowing.
where the courtyard is spacious and the bounty abundant.

May you remain aloft upon glory’s towering mountain,
And may you ever abide in a towering mountain of glory,
its flanks impregnable, unshaken by time.
impregnable at its flanks, which time cannot shake.

May you remain—your domain guarded—victorious,
And may you ever remain guarded in your domain, triumphant,
with conquest and triumph your companions in your eminence.
with conquest and victory your companions in your lofty station.

Poems of praise come one after another from a poet's inspiration,

And I have another need, whose fulfillment rests with you;
and it is not fitting that Zayd or ʿAmr should take charge of it.
so neither Zayd nor ʿAmr should undertake it.
