ثلاثٌ يعيش المرء فيها مكرَّماً

ثلاثٌ يعيش المرء فيها مكرَّماً

يعظمه كلُّ الورَى ويشرِّفُ

يعظمه كلُّ الورَى ويشرِّفُ

Through three qualities, a person lives in honor;

Three things that make a person live honored,

All humankind esteems and honors him.

Respected by all people and dignified:

هو العفْوُ عمن شاءَ سرّاً وجهرةً

هو العفْوُ عمن شاءَ سرّاً وجهرةً

على كلِّ حالٍ والتُّقَى والتلطفُ

على كلِّ حالٍ والتُّقَى والتلطفُ

They are forgiving whomever he wishes, privately and openly,

Forgiving those who wronged you secretly and openly,

In every circumstance, piety, and gentleness.

Piety in all states, and gentle manners.
