أعوذ بك اللهم من فقر ساعة

أعوذ بك اللهم من فقر ساعة

كما بك من سوء الأذى نتعوَّذُ

كما بك من سوء الأذى نتعوَّذُ

I seek refuge in You, O God, from an hour of poverty,

I seek refuge in You, O Allah, from the poverty of an hour

Just as we seek refuge in You from the evil of harm.

Just as in You we seek refuge from evil affliction

أرى كل شر كان في الفقر وحده

أرى كل شر كان في الفقر وحده

وذو الفقر لا يدرى إلى أين ينفذ

وذو الفقر لا يدرى إلى أين ينفذ

I see that every evil was found in poverty alone,

I see that all evil resides in poverty alone

And one in poverty does not know where to make his way.

And the impoverished knows not where to find escape
