أكرمْhow generous! بمنis he who يسألُasks سُؤَّالَهُhis petitioners
أنthat يَسأَلوهthey ask him قبلbefore أنthat يُسْأَلُواthey are asked
How generous is he who asks his petitioners
Honor he who asks his question before asking,
to ask him before they themselves are asked!
So they ask him before they are asked.
وذلكمand that (addressing you all) مِنfrom فَرْطِabundance إكرامهhis generosity
يرَىhe considers بهbecause of it التساءلَasking one another لاnot يجملُis fitting
And that comes from his abundant generosity:
This is from his excessive honor,
he therefore finds asking one another unseemly.
He sees interrogation unbecoming.
إنَّindeed ابنson of سلطانSultan سِوىexcept for مُلكِهhis kingdom
لوif يُسْألُhe is asked for الدنياthe world فلاthen not يَبْخَلُhe is stingy
Indeed, Ibn Sultan, save for his kingdom,
The son of the sultan, apart from his kingdom,
if asked for the world, would not withhold it.
If asked for the world, would not be miserly.
لوif رُوحهhis soul تسألُyou ask for أعطَاكَهَاhe would give it to you
فليتقso let him fear الرحمنَthe All-Merciful مَنْwhoever يَسْألُasks
If you asked for his soul, he would give it to you.
If his soul were asked for, he would give it.
So let whoever asks fear the All-Merciful.
So let he who asks fear the Merciful.
لاnot خَابَwas disappointed فيin الحسنىkindness لهto him سائِلٌa petitioner
لكنbut يخيبُfails العَذْلُreproach والعُذَّلُand the reproachers
No one seeking kindness from him has been disappointed;
No asker of good from him is disappointed,
but reproach and reproachers fail.
Only the unjust and wrongful are disappointed.
لوeven if كانhe were فيin عليائهِhis lofty station آخراًlast
فإنهfor indeed he للأكرمِfor the most generous الأولُthe foremost
Even if he were last in his lofty station,
If there were another after his loftiness,
he is indeed foremost among the most generous.
He would still be the most generous first.

So do not compare him with anyone beneath him.
Do not compare him to those below him,
Are the highest and the lowest equal?
Can the highest equal the lowest?

فُضِّلَwas given preeminence فيin العالمthe world المُرْسَلُthe Messenger
He holds preeminence over kings, just as
He has preference over angels, as
the Messenger was given preeminence in the world.
The Messenger was preferred over the world.

He is the Chosen One from Hashim,
the best of creation, our most excellent Prophet.
The best of creation, our superior Prophet.
