إن كنتَ قد عدتَ إلى العافيهْ

إن كنتَ قد عدتَ إلى العافيهْ

فإننا في عيشةٍ راضِيَهْ

فإننا في عيشةٍ راضِيَهْ

If you have returned to good health,

Then we live a life of contentment.

إنْ بتَّ في صحةٍ ناعمَا

إنْ بتَّ في صحةٍ ناعمَا

فإننا في لذةٍ صافِيَه

فإننا في لذةٍ صافِيَه

If you spend the night at ease in good health,

Then we enjoy pure delight.

اللهُ يكفيكَ الأذَى والقذَى

اللهُ يكفيكَ الأذَى والقذَى

وتصبحنْ في فرحةٍ كافِيَه

وتصبحنْ في فرحةٍ كافِيَه

May God spare you harm and grit in the eye,

And may you awake to joy that suffices.

أجارَك الرحمنُ مِن كان ما

أجارَك الرحمنُ مِن كان ما

تخافُه من علّةٍ خافِيَهْ

تخافُه من علّةٍ خافِيَهْ

May the All-Merciful protect you from whatever

Hidden ailment you may fear.

أعيذُك مِن شرّ البلايَا ومِن

أعيذُك مِن شرّ البلايَا ومِن

شر الوَسَاوِسِ بالكافِيَهْ

شر الوَسَاوِسِ بالكافِيَهْ

I seek protection for you from the evil of calamities, and from

The evil of whisperings, through al-Kafiyah.

وابقَ بقاءَ الدهرِ في بلدةِ

وابقَ بقاءَ الدهرِ في بلدةِ

المعمورِ ما عمرتَ في عافِيَهْ

المعمورِ ما عمرتَ في عافِيَهْ

And remain, as long as time endures, in the town of

Al-Ma‘mur, in good health as long as you live.

يا ابنَ سنانِ أنتَ في راحةٍ

يا ابنَ سنانِ أنتَ في راحةٍ

تَتْرَى وفي عيشةٍ صَافِيَهْ

تَتْرَى وفي عيشةٍ صَافِيَهْ

O son of Sinan, you are at ease,

Ever renewed, and in a life serene.

ما دُمتَ حيَّا نحن في سلوةٍ

ما دُمتَ حيَّا نحن في سلوةٍ

قلوبُنا من أجلِكم سَالِيَهْ

قلوبُنا من أجلِكم سَالِيَهْ

As long as you live, we find solace;

Our hearts, because of you, are free of sorrow.

سَقْياً لدهرِ قد خَلا مدةً

سَقْياً لدهرِ قد خَلا مدةً

خلاَ وأيام به خالِيَهْ

خلاَ وأيام به خالِيَهْ

May rains bless an age that passed some time ago,

Gone, and the bygone days within it,

إذْ نحن في عنفوانِ الصِّبي

إذْ نحن في عنفوانِ الصِّبي

وهِمَّتُنَا في العُلا عَالِيَهْ

وهِمَّتُنَا في العُلا عَالِيَهْ

When we were in the prime of youth,

And our ambition for glory was lofty,

ونَجْمنا يَسْطَعُ بين السُّعودِ

ونَجْمنا يَسْطَعُ بين السُّعودِ

وحضْرتُنَا في الورَى عَالِيَهْ

وحضْرتُنَا في الورَى عَالِيَهْ

And our star shone among the auspicious stars,

And our standing among humankind was high.

والحمدُ لله الذي خَصَّنَا

والحمدُ لله الذي خَصَّنَا

بالعزِّ والنعمَى وبالعافِيَهْ

بالعزِّ والنعمَى وبالعافِيَهْ

And praise be to God, who favored us

With honor, bounty, and good health.
