إِنَّindeed بِمَدفَعِat the outlet of المَلحاءِal-Malḥāʾ قَصراًa palace
إِنَّ بِمَدفَعِ المَلحاءِ قَصراً
قَواعِدُهُits foundations عَلىupon شَرَفٍa height مُقيمِenduring
قَواعِدُهُ عَلى شَرَفٍ مُقيمِ
Indeed, at the outlet of al-Malḥāʾ stands a palace,
With the cannon of salty sea a palace is built
its foundations upon an enduring height.
Its foundations on steadfast heights are wrought
جَزاكَmay He reward you اللَهُGod ياO عُمَرَʿUmar بِنَson of حَفصٍḤafṣ
جَزاكَ اللَهُ يا عُمَرَ بِنَ حَفصٍ
عَنِon behalf of الاِخوانِthe brothers جنّاتِgardens of النَعيمِbliss
عَنِ الاِخوانِ جنّاتِ النَعيمِ
May God reward you, O ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ,
May God reward you, O Umar ibn Hafs
on behalf of the brothers, with gardens of bliss.
With Gardens of Paradise, for the brothers sought
