أدعوكَ ربّي فاستجبْ لدعائي

يا بارئَ الأكوانِ والأحياءِ

I call upon You, my Lord; answer my prayer,

I call upon You, my Lord, so answer my prayer

O Creator of the worlds and living beings.

O Originator of the universe and all living things

إنّي وقفتُ ببابِ رحمتِكَ الّتي

إنّي وقفتُ ببابِ رحمتِكَ الّتي

ما خابَ منها يا عظيمُ رَجائي

ما خابَ منها يا عظيمُ رَجائي

I have stood at the door of Your mercy,

I stand at the door of Your mercy, which

in which my hope has never been disappointed, O Great One.

My great hope has never been disappointed in

نوّرْ فؤادي بالهدايَةِ والتُّقى

نوّرْ فؤادي بالهدايَةِ والتُّقى

وقِهِ من النّزواتِ والأهواءِ

وقِهِ من النّزواتِ والأهواءِ

Illuminate my heart with guidance and piety,

Enlighten my heart with guidance and piety

and guard it against wayward impulses and desires.

And protect it from whims and passions

أنا في حِماكَ فكنْ نصيري واحمِني

أنا في حِماكَ فكنْ نصيري واحمِني

من كُلِّ عاديةٍ وكُلِ بلاءِ

من كُلِّ عاديةٍ وكُلِ بلاءِ

I am under Your protection; be my helper and protect me

I am under Your protection so be my supporter and protect me

from every onslaught and every affliction.

From every enemy and every tribulation

لا ربَّ لي إلاّكَ في هذا الظّلامِ

لا ربَّ لي إلاّكَ في هذا الظّلامِ

يُضيءُ بالهديِ المُبينِ فَضائي

يُضيءُ بالهديِ المُبينِ فَضائي

I have no Lord but You in this darkness

I have no lord but You in this darkness

to light my sky with clear guidance.

That you may illuminate with clear guidance my space

حاشايَ ربّي أن ألوذَ إلى سِواكَ ..

حاشايَ ربّي أن ألوذَ إلى سِواكَ ..

.. فأنتَ وحدَكَ قَبلتي وولائي

.. فأنتَ وحدَكَ قَبلتي وولائي

Far be it from me, my Lord, to seek refuge in anyone but You;

God forbid that I take refuge in other than You

for You alone are my direction in prayer and the object of my allegiance.

For You alone are my destination and allegiance

إنّي مددتُ يَدي إليكَ .. لعلَّني

إنّي مددتُ يَدي إليكَ .. لعلَّني

أحظى بما أنعمتَ من آلاءِ

أحظى بما أنعمتَ من آلاءِ

I have stretched out my hand to You, in the hope that I

I have stretched out my hand to You, perhaps

may receive some of the blessings You have bestowed.

I will obtain the blessings you have bestowed

هبني جميلَ الصَّبرِ .. والسَّلوى إذا

هبني جميلَ الصَّبرِ .. والسَّلوى إذا

ما مسَّني مسٌّ من الضَّراءِ

ما مسَّني مسٌّ من الضَّراءِ

Grant me graceful patience and solace whenever

Grant me the good of patience and solace when

a touch of adversity befalls me.

I am touched by any harm or difficulties

وإذا عييتُ فنجِّني من علَّتي

وإذا عييتُ فنجِّني من علَّتي

واجعلْ هُداكَ إذا ضَللتُ دَوائي

واجعلْ هُداكَ إذا ضَللتُ دَوائي

And when I grow weary, deliver me from my ailment,

And when I grow weary then deliver me from my affliction

and make Your guidance my remedy when I go astray.

يا أيُّها الغَفَّارُ إغفرْ لي ذُنوبي ..

يا أيُّها الغَفَّارُ إغفرْ لي ذُنوبي ..

.. لا تؤآخِذني على أخطائي

.. لا تؤآخِذني على أخطائي

O All-Forgiving One, forgive me my sins;

O Forgiver, forgive my sins

do not hold me accountable for my errors.

And do not take me to account for my mistakes

مالي سِواكَ إذا دَعوتُ يُجيبُني

مالي سِواكَ إذا دَعوتُ يُجيبُني

ويزيلُ عنّي كربَتي وشَقائي

ويزيلُ عنّي كربَتي وشَقائي

I have no one but You to answer me when I call

I have none but You to answer me when I call

and lift from me my anguish and misery.

And remove my anguish and misery from me

يَمّمتُ وجهي طائعاً .. فَعساكَ ..

يَمّمتُ وجهي طائعاً .. فَعساكَ ..

.. تَجمعُني مع الأبرارِ والشُّهداءِ

.. تَجمعُني مع الأبرارِ والشُّهداءِ

I have turned my face obediently; so may You

I have inclined my face obediently, may You

gather me with the righteous and the martyrs.

سُبحانَكَ الَّلهمَّ أنتَ الواحدُ ..

سُبحانَكَ الَّلهمَّ أنتَ الواحدُ ..

.. الأحَدُ العَليُّ الماجِدُ الأسماءِ

.. الأحَدُ العَليُّ الماجِدُ الأسماءِ

Glory be to You, O God; You are the One,

Glory be to You O God, You are the One

the Unique, the Most High, glorious in Your names.

The Unique, The Exalted, The Majestic, The names

آمنتُ أنَّكَ أنتَ علاّمُ الغُيوبِ ..

آمنتُ أنَّكَ أنتَ علاّمُ الغُيوبِ ..

.. مقدّرُ الأقدارِ والأشياءِ

I believe that You are the Knower of all unseen things,

I believe that You are the Knower of the unseen
