غزَّةُGaza هاشمٍHashim تلوكُchews جرحَهاher wound

طاغٍa tyrant طغىtransgressed.. بغىoppressed.. أحلَّsanctioned ذبحَهاher slaughter
طاغٍ طغى.. بغى.. أحلَّ ذبحَها
Gaza of Hashim chews on her wound.
Gaza, Hashim's jewel, licks its wounds
A tyrant transgressed... oppressed... sanctioned her slaughter.
The tyrant raged, longed, sanctioned its slaughter
لمdid not يرعَhonor حرمةًsanctity.. تجاوزَexceeded المدىthe bounds
لم يرعَ حرمةً.. تجاوزَ المدى
دماءُblood أطفالٍchildren أباحَpermitted سفحهاits shedding
دماءُ أطفالٍ أباحَ سفحها
He honored no sanctity... exceeded all bounds.
No sanctity was spared, limits were exceeded
He permitted the shedding of children's blood.
Children's blood made lawful upon its fields
غزةُGaza صرحٌa lofty edifice والغزاةُand the invaders استنسرواbecame like eagles
غزةُ صرحٌ والغزاةُ استنسروا
مهماhowever far تمادواpersist in excess لنwill not يطالواreach صرحَهاher lofty edifice
مهما تمادوا لن يطالوا صرحَها
Gaza is a lofty edifice, and the invaders have become like eagles.
Gaza, a fortress, and the invaders boasted

تغفوdozes علىupon نارِfire الجحيمِhell ليلَهاher night
تغفو على نارِ الجحيمِ ليلَها
تصحوwakes علىupon نارِfire الجحيمِhell صبحَهاher morning
تصحو على نارِ الجحيمِ صبحَها
She dozes upon hellfire at night.
Its nights pass sleeping on hellfire
She wakes upon hellfire in the morning.
Its dawns wake to the flames of hell
وأمةand the nation الأعرابِthe Bedouin Arabs فيin ضلالِهاher delusion
وأمة الأعرابِ في ضلالِها
ياoh ويحَهاwoe to her ياoh ويحَهاwoe to her ياoh ويحَهاwoe to her
يا ويحَها يا ويحَها يا ويحَها
And the nation of the Bedouin Arabs is lost in her delusion.
While the Arab nation wanders astray
Oh, woe to her! Oh, woe to her! Oh, woe to her!
Woe to it, woe to it, woe to it
أزرىdebased بهاher الهوانُhumiliation فيin هوانِهاher humiliation
أزرى بها الهوانُ في هوانِها
والباقياتُand the rest.. لنwill not أعيدَI repeat شرحَهاexplaining them
