فنعم فتى الدنيا لئنْ كانَ فاجراً

فنعم فتى الدنيا لئنْ كانَ فاجراً

وفوق الفتى إن كان ليسَ بفاجِرِ

وفوق الفتى إن كان ليسَ بفاجِرِ

What a fine young man of this world, even if he was sinful;

The world's youth, though wanton, is noble yet,

And above other young men, if he was not sinful.

But nobler still is he who virtue shows.
