Slender-flanked, with his outer garment torn,
Slender-waisted, his garment is torn;
his shirt rent away from him, he makes light of traveling by night.
His shirt torn from him, he makes light of travelling by night.

People feel safe from him neither at evening nor at morning,
People do not feel safe from his coming at evening and morning;
in any mountain pass; even when he does not raid, his coming is expected.
In every mountain pass, even if he does not raid, he is awaited.
