أَبَعْدَ عُثْمانَ تَرْجُو الخَيْرَ أُمَّتُهُ

أَبَعْدَ عُثْمانَ تَرْجُو الخَيْرَ أُمَّتُهُ

وكانَ آمنَ مَنْ يَمْشِي على ساقِ

وكانَ آمنَ مَنْ يَمْشِي على ساقِ

After Uthman, does his community hope for good?

And he was the most trustworthy of all who walk on foot.

خَلِيفَةُ اللّهِ أَعْطاهُمْ وخَوَّلَهُمْ

خَلِيفَةُ اللّهِ أَعْطاهُمْ وخَوَّلَهُمْ

ما كانَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ جَمٍّ وأوْراقِ

ما كانَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ جَمٍّ وأوْراقِ

God's caliph gave them and bestowed upon them

what there was of abundant gold and silver.

فلا تُكَذِّبْ بوَعْدِ اللّهِ وارْضَ بهِ

فلا تُكَذِّبْ بوَعْدِ اللّهِ وارْضَ بهِ

ولا تُوكّلْ عَلى شَيْءٍ بإشْفاقِ

ولا تُوكّلْ عَلى شَيْءٍ بإشْفاقِ

So do not disbelieve in God's promise, and be content with it.

And do not anxiously rely on anything.

ولا تَقُولَنْ لشَيءٍ سَوْفَ أَفْعَلُهُ

ولا تَقُولَنْ لشَيءٍ سَوْفَ أَفْعَلُهُ

قد قَدَّرَ اللّهُ ما كلُّ امْرِىءٍ لاقِ

قد قَدَّرَ اللّهُ ما كلُّ امْرِىءٍ لاقِ

And never say of anything, "I will do it."

God has already decreed what every person will encounter.
