عَقَرْتُI slaughtered عَلىat أَنْصابِgrave markers of تَوْبَةَTawba مُقْرَماًa prized breeding camel
عَقَرْتُ عَلى أَنْصابِ تَوْبَةَ مُقْرَماً
بِهَيْدةَat Hayda إذْwhen لَمْdid not تَخْتَفِرْهُshow him reverence أَقارِبُهْhis kinsfolk
بِهَيْدةَ إذْ لَمْ تَخْتَفِرْهُ أَقارِبُهْ
I slaughtered a prized breeding camel at Tawba’s grave markers,
I crushed the pillars of repentance in distress
at Hayda, when his kinsfolk showed him no reverence.
When his kin did not conceal it in modesty
