أبا حَسنٍ تفديكَ نَفسي وأُسرَتي

أبا حَسنٍ تفديكَ نَفسي وأُسرَتي

وكُلُّ بطيءٍ في الهُدى ومُسارِعِ

وكُلُّ بطيءٍ في الهُدى ومُسارِعِ

O Abu Hasan, may my soul and my family ransom you,

Oh Abu Hasan, I sacrifice my soul and family for you

And all who are slow in guidance and all who hasten.

And every slow one to guidance and every hasty one

أيذهبُ مدحٌ من مُحِبِّكَ ضائِعاً

أيذهبُ مدحٌ من مُحِبِّكَ ضائِعاً

وما المدحُ في جنبِ الإلهِ بضائِعِ

وما المدحُ في جنبِ الإلهِ بضائِعِ

Does praise from one who loves you go to waste?

Does praise from your lover go in vain

Nor is praise wasted in God's presence.

And praise is not in vain next to God

فأنتَ الذي أعطيتَ إذ كُنتَ راكعاً

فأنتَ الذي أعطيتَ إذ كُنتَ راكعاً

عليٌّ فدتك النفسُ يا خيرَ راكِعِ

عليٌّ فدتك النفسُ يا خيرَ راكِعِ

For you are the one who gave when you were bowing.

For you are the one who gave while bowing down

Ali, may my soul ransom you, O best of those who bow!

Ali sacrificed himself for you, O best of bowers

فأنزلَ فيكَ اللَه خيرَ ولاية

فأنزلَ فيكَ اللَه خيرَ ولاية

وبينها في محكماتِ الشرائِع

وبينها في محكماتِ الشرائِع

So God revealed concerning you the finest guardianship,

So God sent down the best authority concerning you

And made it clear in the unambiguous provisions of the sacred laws.

And clarified it in the precise religious texts
