إذا نحنُ بايعنا علياً فحسبُنا

إذا نحنُ بايعنا علياً فحسبُنا

أبو حسَنٍ مما نخافُ من الفِتَن

أبو حسَنٍ مما نخافُ من الفِتَن

If we pledge allegiance to Ali, sufficient for us is

If we pledged allegiance to Ali, it was enough for us,

Abu Hasan against the strife we fear.

Abu Hasan, we have no fear of strife,

وجدناهُ أولى الناسِ بالناس إنَّهُ

وجدناهُ أولى الناسِ بالناس إنَّهُ

أطبُّ قُريشٍ بالكتابِ وبالسُّنَن

أطبُّ قُريشٍ بالكتابِ وبالسُّنَن

We found him, of all men, most entitled to lead the people; indeed, he is

We found him to be the best of people for people, he

The most learned of Quraysh in the Book and the traditions.

Is the most knowledgeable of Quraysh in the Book and the Sunnah,

وأنَّ قُريشاً لا تشقُّ غبارَهُ

وأنَّ قُريشاً لا تشقُّ غبارَهُ

إذا ما جرى يوماً على الضُّمرِ البُدُن

إذا ما جرى يوماً على الضُّمرِ البُدُن

And that Quraysh cannot cut through his dust,

And that Quraysh cannot raise dust against him

When, one day, he races on lean, stout-bodied steeds.

If a day comes when virtues are exposed,

ففيهِ الذي فيهم من الخيرِ كُلِّهِ

ففيهِ الذي فيهم من الخيرِ كُلِّهِ

وما فيهمُ مثلُ الذي فيهِ من حَسَن

وما فيهمُ مثلُ الذي فيهِ من حَسَن

For in him is all the goodness found in them,

For he possesses all the good that is in them

Yet in them is nothing like the excellence in him.

And there is none among them with his virtues and beauty,

وصيُّ رسولِ اللَه من دُونِ أهلِهِ

وصيُّ رسولِ اللَه من دُونِ أهلِهِ

وفارِسُهُ قد كانَ في سالفِ الزمن

وفارِسُهُ قد كانَ في سالفِ الزمن

The Messenger of God's appointed successor, to the exclusion of his kin,

The successor of Allah's Messenger, apart from his family,

And indeed he was his horseman in days gone by.

And his knight who was so in times past.
