كلش طراته الى وافق على حلّه
والاotherwise ترىyou see كلevery شئthing يالغضيO tender beloved فانيperishable
والا ترى كل شئ يالغضي فاني
Everything has its sweetness when it finds its proper place;
Otherwise, you see, everything fades away, O tender beloved.
لاmay not عاشlive خلa lover(نnunation marker) تنكرdisowns فيin الهوىlove خلّهhis beloved
لا عاش خل(ن) تنكر في الهوى خلّه
يومone day(نnunation marker) حبيبa beloved(نnunation marker) ويومand another day(نnunation marker) يصيرhe becomes قومانيan enemy
يوم(ن) حبيب(ن) ويوم(ن) يصير قوماني
May no lover live who disowns his beloved in love:
One day a beloved, and the next he becomes an enemy.
وشwhat فيكis wrong with you دايمalways تعسرyou strain القلبthe heart واتّلّهand tug at it
وش فيك دايم تعسر القلب واتّلّه
اخافI fear يومa day(نnunation marker) يجيwill come ماnot عادany longer تلقانيyou will find me
اخاف يوم(ن) يجي ما عاد تلقاني
