أَتَرجوDo you hope اِعتِذاريmy apology يَاِبنَO son of أَروىArwa وَرَجعَتيand my turning back
عَنِaway from الحَقِّthe truth قِدَماًlong ago غالَcarried off حِلمَكَyour reason غولُa ghoul
Do you hope for my apology, O son of Arwa, and my turning
Do you hope for my apology, O son of Arwa, and my return
Away from the truth? A ghoul has long since carried off your reason.
From the truth a step, your forbearance has been long
وَإِنَّand indeed دُعائيmy prayer كُلَّevery يَومٍday وَلَيلَةٍand night
عَلَيكَagainst you بِماfor what أَسدَيتَهُyou have bestowed it لَطَويلُis indeed long
And indeed my prayer, every day and night,
And my supplication every day and night
Against you for what you have done is long.
Is for you, for what you have endured is long
وَإِنَّand indeed اِغتِرابيmy exile فيin البِلادِthe lands وَجَفوَتيand my being treated harshly
وَشَتمِيَand my being insulted فيin ذاتِthe cause of الإِلَهِGod قَليلُlittle
And indeed my exile in the lands and the harsh treatment I suffer
And my estrangement in the lands and my aloofness
And the insults I endure are a small thing in God's cause.
And my insults against the being of God are few
