قَريبٌnear at hand ثَراهُhis moist earth لاnot يَنالُreach عَدُوُّهُhis enemy
قَريبٌ ثَراهُ لا يَنالُ عَدُوُّهُ
لَهُof his نَبَطاًunderground water آبيspurning الهَوانِhumiliation قَطوبُstern-browed
لَهُ نَبَطاً آبي الهَوانِ قَطوبُ
His moist earth is near at hand, yet his enemy cannot reach
His wealth is near, his foe cannot attain it,
His underground water; he spurns humiliation, stern of brow.
He has glory and bounty, the best of gifts.
