So, had a Persian not drawn his sword,
Were it not for a Persian knight who prayed
you would not have disparaged the lizards and whoever served them.
You would not pierce through the fog, nor draw near her abode

Out of my affection, I served the guest their belly fat;
I brought the guest close to my beloved like a king
and what delicacy could one set aside but their belly fat?
What glory is there except kingship?
