O liver that, on the evening at Ghurrab, nearly

split apart from separation, in the wake of those departing!

That evening, I had no recourse except that I

was absorbed in gathering pebbles and drawing on the ground.

I trace a line and erase it, then trace it again

with my palm, while the gazelles lie resting around me.

That evening, among those who stayed at Ghurrab, there was no

place to stay, nor among those who had gone a place to hasten to.
