نُبِّئتُI was told أَنَّthat بُرَيداًBurayd خَفَّdeparted حاضِرُهُits settled folk
نُبِّئتُ أَنَّ بُرَيداً خَفَّ حاضِرُهُ
مِنهُfrom it وَزايَلَهُand left it المَرعِيُّthe tended livestock وَالهَمَلُand the untended livestock
مِنهُ وَزايَلَهُ المَرعِيُّ وَالهَمَلُ
I was told that Burayd's settled folk had departed
I was told that a camel has lessened his presence
from it, and tended and untended herds had left it.
Among us, and the herdsman as well as the camel herd have parted from him
وَقَدand indeed رَأَيتُI saw بِهاin it الأَصرامَthe tribal groups يَجمَعُهُمgathers them
وَقَد رَأَيتُ بِها الأَصرامَ يَجمَعُهُم
سَهلُlevel ground الأَباطِحِof the gravelly valley floors لاnot ضيقٌcramped وَلاnor جَرَلُrough, stony ground
سَهلُ الأَباطِحِ لا ضيقٌ وَلا جَرَلُ
And I had seen tribal groups there, gathered together
And I have seen the hillsides gather them together
by the level gravelly valley floors, neither cramped nor rugged.
On the easy open plains, not narrow or rugged
