إِنّي صَبَحتُ حَمَلَ بنِ كوزِ
عُلالَةًremaining strength فيin وَكَرىa swift runner أَبوزِbounding
عُلالَةً في وَكَرى أَبوزِ
At dawn I came upon Ḥamal ibn Kūz,
Indeed, I came upon Hamal ibn Kuz at dawn,
a mere remnant in Abūz’s lair,
with strength remaining in a swift, bounding runner,
يُريحُrests بَعدَafter النَفَسِthe breathing المَحفوزِhurried
يُريحُ بَعدَ النَفَسِ المَحفوزِ
إِراحَةَthe resting of الجَدايَةِthe young gazelle النَفّوزِbounding
إِراحَةَ الجَدايَةِ النَفّوزِ
resting after his hard-driven panting,
that rests after its hurried breathing,
as a skittish young gazelle takes rest.
as a bounding young gazelle rests.
