And unveiled my poetry as an exhibition of emotions.

Contradictory in my indignation and contentment.

I made fast what I made fast, deeming it easy,

If its undoing came due, to let it be diminished.

And through it I came to lodge with nature,

Where I found myself upon ghada embers.

Keeping unfairly aloof from the good in one you hated,

And exposing myself to the evil in one I loved.

Followed my nature in much, as it demanded.

And there is a debt to the country whose repayment

Is binding on me; I may yet live to see it exacted.
