أَقولُI say لِلصَحبِto the companions فيin البَيضاءِal-Bayda دونَكُمhere you have
مَحَلَّةًa dwelling سَوَّدَتblackened بَيضاءَthe white expanse of أَقطاريmy horizons
I say to the companions in al-Bayda: here you have
I say to my friends, without you in Al-Bayda
A dwelling that blackened the whiteness of my horizons.
A district that has blackened the whiteness of my lands
مَأَوىa haven الفَتوَةِchivalry لِلأَنذالِfor the base مُذsince خُلِقَتit was created
عِندَin the eyes of الكِرامِthe noble مَحَلُّa place of الذُلُّhumiliation وَالعارِand disgrace
A haven of chivalry for the base since it was created;
The abode of chivalry for the lowly since created
To the noble, a place of humiliation and disgrace.
With the noble, it is the abode of disgrace and shame
كَأَنَّas though ساكِنَهاits dweller مِنfrom قَعرِهاits depths أَبَداًalways
لَدىupon الخُروجِemerging كَمُنتاشٍlike one plucked out مِنَfrom النارِthe fire
Its dweller always seems, coming from its depths,
As if its inhabitants from its depths forever
On emerging, like one plucked from the fire.
Upon leaving, like one rescued from fire
