وَنَحنُ أَجَرنا عامِراً يَومَ عامِرٍ

فَأَفلَتَ مِن أَقتالِهِ لَيلَةَ الغَمرِ

فَأَفلَتَ مِن أَقتالِهِ لَيلَةَ الغَمرِ

And we granted ʿĀmir protection on the day of ʿĀmir,

We passed a prosperous day in prosperity

so he escaped his foes on the night of al-Ghamr.

Yet it escaped from its battles one night of deluge
