إنّindeed حظّيmy luck كدقيقlike flour ٍ
فوقَover شوكٍthorns نثروهُthey scattered it
Indeed, my luck is like flour;
My fate is like flour
over thorns they scattered it.
Spread over thorns
ثمّthen قالواthey said لحُفاةٍto barefoot people
يومَon a day of ريحwind ٍ إجمعوهُgather it

صعُبَbecame difficult الأمرُthe task عليهمْfor them
قلتُI said ياO قومpeople ِ اتركوهُleave it

إنّindeed منone whom أشقاهُmade him wretched ربِّيmy Lord
كيفَhow أنتمyou (plural) تسعدوهُmake him happy؟

Indeed, the one whom my Lord has made miserable
how can you make him happy?
How can you make him happy?
