يُسائِلُنيasks me القلبُthe heart ماwhat أذهلكْleft you spellbound
فهلاّthen why not أذِنْتَyou permitted بأنthat أسألكْI ask you
My heart asks me: what has left you spellbound?
My heart asks what has made you so confused
Then will you not allow me to ask you?
Why don't you allow me to ask you
علىupon وجنتيكَyour two cheeks احمرارُthe redness الورودِthe roses
فقُلْso tell ليto me بِرَبّكَby your Lord منwho قَبّلكْkissed you
Upon your cheeks is the redness of roses.
On your cheeks is the redness of roses
So tell me, by your Lord, who kissed you?
Tell me, by your Lord, who has kissed you
ومنand who سكبَpoured الليلَthe night فيinto مُقلتيكَyour two eyes
ومنand who ذاis it علىabove الناسthe people ِقدindeed جَمّلكْmade you beautiful
And who poured the night into your eyes?
And who has poured the night into your eyes
And who is it who made you more beautiful than others?
And who is it that has beautified you so for the people
فللّهِfor, to God فيin خَلقِهِHis creation ماwhatever يُريدُHe wills

For in His creation, God has whatever He wills.
For God does with His creation as He wills
