فَلَمّا أَفنَتِ الدُنيا أَباكا
You were unfilial to your father, a man of wealth and ease;
You stabbed your father out of youth and ease
Then, when the world had brought your father to his end,
But after you wasted your life fatherless
عَلِقتَyou took up عَداوَتيenmity toward me هَذيthese لَعَمريby my life

ثيابُ السرِّ تُلبِسُها عِراكا
You took up enmity toward me—these, by my life,
You've earned my enmity, by my life
Are garments of secrecy you put on all at once.
The clothes of secrecy you wear naked
