وَلا ضَرَّت بِفُرقَتِها نِزارا
So she brought no chiefs to the people of Yemen,
No more are heads raised for one of wealth,
Nor did her departure harm Nizar;
Nor has parting with her harmed Nizar.

وَترأَمُ مَن يَحدُّ لَها الشِفارا
Like an ill-natured goat, she butts the one who fed her,
Like a wicked she-goat butting those who leave her
And loves the one who sharpens the blades for her.
And compliant to him who holds the bucket for her.
