إِنّي استَحَيتُكَ أَن أَفوهَ بحاجَتي

إِنّي استَحَيتُكَ أَن أَفوهَ بحاجَتي

فَإِذا قَرأتَ صَحيفَتي فَتَفَهَّمِ

فَإِذا قَرأتَ صَحيفَتي فَتَفَهَّمِ

Indeed, I was too shy before you to speak of my need.

I am too shy to tell you plainly of my need

So when you read my letter, understand it.

So when you read my letter, try to understand

وَعَلَيكَ عَهدُ اللَهِ إِن أَنبأتَهُ

وَعَلَيكَ عَهدُ اللَهِ إِن أَنبأتَهُ

أَهلَ السَيالَةِ إِن فَعَلتَ وَإِن لَمِ

أَهلَ السَيالَةِ إِن فَعَلتَ وَإِن لَمِ

And you are bound by God's covenant if you disclose it

And I adjure you by God’s covenant, if you reveal it

to the people of al-Sayālah, whether you grant my request or not.

To prying eyes, whether you do so or not
