If you do not secure a safeguard from people,

by which your fingers are bound tight within your palms,

you will drink water muddied by hooves wherever you find it,

despite its murk, and covetous desires will enslave you.

And indeed I sometimes wear a tight garment,

and forgo wearing a garment though it is roomy.

And I turn my mount away from some waters,

when the watering places please some men.
