I see time making me forget many tales

That came from a friend or an enemy who spreads them.

And time has never made me forget them without her memory

Lying where the ribs curve protectively around my soul.

Even if we have nothing of her but a memory

And the saying, “Perhaps time will bring her back one day,”

She has indeed won from me a heart enslaved by love,

And an eye whose tears for her never dry.

Do you forget my days and yours, which

The soul almost divulges whenever it recalls them?
