O dwelling of Sulayma, between Bayn and Math‘ar,
Suleima turned between a dune and rugged ground
Speak plainly, for you were asked for news only to tell it.
Reveal to me, for I asked but to reveal to me
أَبينيreveal حَبَتكِmay they favor you البارِقاتُthe lightning-bearing clouds بِوَبلِهاwith their downpour
أَبيني حَبَتكِ البارِقاتُ بِوَبلِها

لَنا مَنسَماً عَن آلِ سَلمى وَشَغفَرِ
Reveal—may the lightning-bearing clouds favor you with their downpour—
Reveal your scintillating tears in their overflow
To us some trace of the kin of Salma and Shaghfar.
We have a retreat from the family of Salma and Shagafar

Your eyes have indeed been watered, for I was weeping
Indeed your eyes were irrigated that I was crying
Over every desert camp and settled dwelling of Salim.
For every campsite of Suleim and Mahadhar
