إِنّيIndeed, I امرؤٌa man أَدَعُI leave الهَوانَdishonor بدارِهِin its abode
إِنّي امرؤٌ أَدَعُ الهَوانَ بدارِهِ
كرماًout of nobility وإِنand if أُسَمِI am subjected to المذلةَhumiliation أَبعطِI go to extremes in refusal
كرماً وإِن أُسَمِ المذلةَ أَبعطِ
I am a man who leaves humiliation in its own abode,
Indeed, I am a man who leaves dishonor in its own abode,
out of nobility; yet if I am subjected to abasement, I rage.
Out of nobility; and if subjected to humiliation, I reject it utterly.
