وَدَوادياًand inkpots وَأَداوياًand waterskins لَمnot يَعفِهاefface them
وَدَوادياً وَأَداوياً لَم يَعفِها
ماwhatever مَرَّhas passed مِنof مَطَرٍrain وَعامٍand a year مُقحِطِdrought-stricken
ما مَرَّ مِن مَطَرٍ وَعامٍ مُقحِطِ
And inkpots and waterskins, not effaced
Through valleys and medicines unhealed
By the rain and drought-stricken years that have passed.
By rains and years of dearth they were concealed
