Abu Khalid loves praise,
Abu Khalid loves to be praised
Yet fears giving the praiser a reward,
And flees from the ties of the praiser
كَعَذراءَlike a virgin تَبغيshe desires لَذيذَthe pleasure of النِكاحِintercourse
كَعَذراءَ تَبغي لَذيذَ النِكاحِ
وَتَفرَقُand she fears مِنof صَولَةِthe onslaught of الناكِحِthe man having intercourse
وَتَفرَقُ مِن صَولَةِ الناكِحِ
Like a virgin who desires the pleasure of intercourse,
Like a virgin who desires the sweetness of marriage
Yet fears the onslaught of the man who beds her.
And flees from the aggression of the groom
