ظَعَنَ الخَليطُ بلُبِّكَ المُتَقَسِّمِ

ظَعَنَ الخَليطُ بلُبِّكَ المُتَقَسِّمِ

وَرَموكَ عَن قَوسِ الخِبالِ بِأَسهُمِ

وَرَموكَ عَن قَوسِ الخِبالِ بِأَسهُمِ

The companions departed, taking your divided heart with them.

The mixture was fermented by your divided heart

And shot you with arrows from the bow of madness.

And they shot you from the bow of oblivion with their arrows

سَلَكوا عَلى صَفَرٍ كَأَنَّ حُمولَهُم

سَلَكوا عَلى صَفَرٍ كَأَنَّ حُمولَهُم

بالرَضمَتَينِ ذُرى سَفينٍ عُوَّمِ

بالرَضمَتَينِ ذُرى سَفينٍ عُوَّمِ

They journeyed over Ṣafar, as though their laden camels

They marched on yellow as if their burdens

At al-Raḍmatayn were the tops of ships afloat.

Were with the two cushions the ballast of a floated ship
