بِجَمعٍ وَأُخرى أَسعَفَت بالمُحَصَّبِ
The heart has found peace, save when recalling a night
The heart asks for nothing but the memory of a night
At Jamʿ, and another that brought fulfillment at al-Muḥaṣṣab,
Of a gathering, and another lit by chandeliers,
وَمَجلسِand a gathering أَبكارٍmaidens كَأَنَّas though عُيونَهاtheir eyes

عُيونُ المَها أَنضَينَ قُدّامَ رَبرَبِ
And a gathering of maidens, as though their eyes were
And a assembly of virgins whose eyes
The eyes of oryx, grown weary at the head of a herd.
Are like the eyes of startled deer in front of murmuring water.
