إذاif قيلit is said أيّwhich فتًىyoung man تعلمونyou know
إذا قيل أيّ فتًى تعلمون
لمُعترِّfor the seeker of aid among فِهْرٍFihr ومُحتاجهاand its needy one
لمُعترِّ فِهْرٍ ومُحتاجها
If it is asked, “Which young man do you know
When asked, "Which young man are you teaching?
for Fihr’s seeker of aid and its needy,
One who can defend a crowd, and take care of them,
ومَنand who يُعجِلhastens الخيلَthe horses يومon the day of اللّقاءbattle
ومَن يُعجِل الخيلَ يوم اللّقاء
بإلجامهاby bridling them قبلbefore إسراجهاsaddling them
بإلجامها قبل إسراجها
and who hastens the horses on the day of battle
And who readies his steed on the day of battle
by bridling them before saddling them?”
Bridling it before saddling it?"
أشارتpointed إليكto you أكفُّthe hands of النِّساءthe women
أشارت إليك أكفُّ النِّساء
بذلكas such منfrom قبلbefore أزواجهاtheir husbands
بذلك من قبل أزواجها
The women’s hands point to you
The women's palms point towards you,
as such, before their husbands do.
Saying so ahead of their husbands.
