تَك كَيفَ كُنتَ وَكَيف كانا
Your eyes have told of the night
Your eyes have told of the night we spent
you spent—how you were, and how they were.
How you were and how things went
وَلَرُبّand many an عَينeye قَدindeed أَرَتhas shown
وَلَرُبّ عَين قَد أَرَت
كَyou مَبيتَnight spent صاحِبِهاits owner عياناplainly
كَ مَبيتَ صاحِبِها عيانا
And many an eye has shown
And many an eye has also seen
you, plainly, how its owner spent the night.
