قدرتَyou had power فَلَمyet did not تَضرُرharm عَدُوّاًan enemy بِقدرةwith power
قدرتَ فَلَم تَضرُر عَدُوّاً بِقدرة
وَسُمتَand you inflicted بِهwith it إِخوانَكyour brothers الذُلَّhumiliation وَالرَغماand abasement
وَسُمتَ بِه إِخوانَك الذُلَّ وَالرَغما
You had power, yet with that power you harmed no enemy.
You were able, yet you did not harm an enemy with your ability,
And with it you inflicted humiliation and abasement on your brothers.
And you gave your brethren only humility and vexation.
وَكُنتَand you were مَليئاًcapable بِالَّذيof that which قَدmight يعافهاhe shuns it
وَكُنتَ مَليئاً بِالَّذي قَد يعافها
مِنَamong الناسِpeople مَنone who يأتيcommits الدَّنيئَةَa base deed وَالذَمّاand blameworthy conduct
مِنَ الناسِ مَن يأتي الدَّنيئَةَ وَالذَمّا
And you were capable of what might be shunned
You were full of that which some of the people might condemn -
even by those among people who commit base and blameworthy deeds.
Those who commit the vile and blameworthy acts.
