خَير ما سائِس وَخَيرُ مَسوس

لِلإِمام الإمام وَاِبن الإِمام

لِلإِمام الإمام وَاِبن الإِمام

The finest ruler and the finest of the ruled,

The best of all leaders, the best to preside,

for the imam—the imam and the imam’s son:

Is the Imam, the Imam, and the Imam's son.

قَمر طالِع للَيلَة تمّ

قَمر طالِع للَيلَة تمّ

وَهِلال يَنمي عَلى الأَيّام

وَهِلال يَنمي عَلى الأَيّام

a moon rising on the night of fullness,

A rising moon, lighting up the night,

and a crescent waxing as the days pass.

A crescent growing with each passing day.
